About
About the EDCF
The EDCF is a non-profit, vendor-neutral forum for innovation and knowledge sharing on the future of the big screen.
Founded in 2000, the European Digital Cinema Forum played an instrumental role in the digitisation of European cinemas, helping the industry navigate one of its most significant technological transitions with minimal disruption.
Today, the EDCF continues to unite professionals from across the film ecosystem - including trade associations, standards bodies, cinema operators, manufacturers, service providers, distributors, post-producers, and content creators - to explore the evolving landscape of cinema technology. From sustainability and premium formats to AI and cybersecurity, the EDCF's agenda has evolved alongside the industry it serves, while its founding principle remains unchanged: providing a neutral space for open dialogue and shared understanding across Europe's diverse cinema landscape.
