Wnat is EDCF?

The EDCF is a “Forum” established to discuss key issues surrounding European Digital Cinema and to provide a basis of common understanding across all European territories of the business and technical matters of digital cinema.

The EDCF purpose is to facilitate the successful deployment of D-Cinema in Europe, where “successful deployment” means:-

• most of the cinemas are included
• film distribution is preserved, particularly the independent sector
• digital cinema is treated as an opportunity for the cultural heritage of cinema
• no films are excluded from digital distribution and exhibition
